YOU ARE WELCOME TO JOIN US

The Glengael Bagpipe Band is always looking for pipers and drummers. We offer FREE lessons to anyone interested in becoming a member. Pipers begin on what is called a practice chanter, and drummers begin with sticks and a drumpad. This means that unlike other instruments that require an initial investment of hundreds of dollars, here the initial cost is minimal. No prior musical knowledge is necessary and we provide all the music. With a little practice each week, you can be playing a full set of pipes with us in under a year. Drumming is even sooner.

Maybe you already can play the pipes or drums and are looking for a band in the Chicago area. We encourage you to visit one of our band practices. We meet Monday evenings, 7-10pm at the American Legion Hall in Des Plaines, IL.

You'll find that we balance a serious study of music with lighthearted camaraderie. We are a competition band, thus showing our commitment to accurate playing, but we also perform in many community parades and social events.
